A bit about me
Italiano Rapido was set up by Barbara Miceli in 2022. Barbara is a native of Calabria, Italy whose first language is Italian. Barbara is passionate about sharing her native language with others.
“Ciao! My name is Barbara Miceli. Welcome to Italiano Rapido. Let me tell you a little about me.
My second name is Mary – a name associated with a miraculous past, which I hope I will be able to continue! That is, I dare to say that I can help you learn the Italian language almost miraculously!
Italian is my first language but through my love of travel, I now also speak English and Spanish fluently.
That process was just part of my personal experience and showed me effective methods of language learning. It helps me to understand various accents and know the most folkloristic expressions of my Calabrian dialect … so I understand a wide range of linguistics!
I love to teach the Italian language to non-natives, sometimes I think that many Italians would need my help!
The world is evolving rapidly and my teaching methods through colloquial expressions, games, role playing, simulations of everyday scenarios and of course, gesticulations will have you speaking Italian Rapido! My courses are aimed at a wide range of users such as tourists, workers, clergy, children, students and those with disabilities.
I have 15 years of past experience teaching them all… and that’s how Italiano Rapido was born!

My Courses
LOVERS OF ITALY
For tourists or simply adults with a passion for the Italian language. The course includes both an oral and a small written part with essential elements of grammar and syntax and includes the simulation of real scenarios of everyday life (at the station; at the restaurant; at the hotel; at the shop; on the phone; etc).
VISA
For all those who apply for the Italian visa permit. During the course the oral part will prevail over the written part, the grammar will be simplified so that you can communicate as quickly as possible through role-playing (fill in forms; post; open a bank account; write ads looking for a house etc).
BUSINESS
The course is aimed at all those who want to work using business Italian in companies or as an independent professional. The course will be based on studying grammar to write emails and business letters correctly. The most common technical terms used in business conversations will be covered.
CHILDREN
The course is aimed at 6-11-year-olds and focuses on playful activities. Through drawing and playing, you will learn Italian starting from the recognition of animals, shapes, colors, and objects with a path that goes from literacy and pronunciation to the basic elements of communication.
ITALIAN FOR THE CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE
The course is for religious or novices who would like to study in Italy. It makes provision for the acquisition of the theological lexicon by reading and understanding biblical and the Catholic liturgy texts.
